What is the difference between hemp & marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana are general classifications of Cannabis – they are not species or strains. Hemp includes varieties of Cannabis that contain 0.3% or less THC content. Marijuana includes varieties of Cannabis that contain more than 0.3% THC and can induce psychoactive effects.
Is it legal to sell CBD and hemp-derived products?
The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production and sale of hemp and its extracts. By federal law, hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% THC - anything more than that is classified as marijuana and is considered illegal. Different states have different regulations on CBD, which is why we are not allowing purchases to made from customers in Idaho and South Dakota.
How does hemp differ from CBD?
Hemp oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. There are no cannabinoids (CBD or THC) in cold pressed hemp oil. CBD oil is an extract that contains cannabidiol and is extracted from the hemp varieties of the cannabis plant. Most CBD is extracted from the leaves, flowers, and stalks of the cannabis plant via CO2 hemp extraction or ethanol extraction.
What is the difference between full and broad spectrum?
Full spectrum CBD extract contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant. Full spectrum extracts usually have low levels of THC content (still below 0.3%).
Broad spectrum CBD extract contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant, except for THC, which is completely removed after extraction. Broad spectrum contains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids (like full spectrum) but zero THC. Our CBD ME products are broad spectrum (0.0% THC).
Are there side effects? Will it get me high?
CBD is tolerated by most people, but there is potential for any person to have a reaction, just like any food, drug, or supplement. While not common, side effects of CBD can include nausea, fatigue and irritability. Broad spectrum CBD is non-psychoactive and does not contain the psychoactive properties to make you feel high.
